Prestigio extends MultiPad Tablet PC family

The new Prestigio Tablet PC, the third model in 5series of MultiPads runs Google’s mighty operating system Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Updates can be downloaded and installed very comfortably over the air (OTA).

The model is sleeker and faster than the previous 5series models, featuring the fast and powerful 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 and being equipped with 3D graphic accelerator OpenGL 2.0 for the extra smooth running of multimedia files and stunning gaming experience.

For multimedia and numerous applications, Prestigio MultiPad PMP5080B has its own 4GB internal memory and a separate micro SD card slot to extend the storage capacity by 32GB. The model also includes built-in WiFi with a super speed 802.11 b/g/n, a front 2 MPx webcam, HDMI output and a G-sensor. For best performance in the web, the PMP5080B supports Adobe Flash 10.1.

Unlike the existing 5series models, the new Prestigio MultiPad PMP5080B features an 8 inch capacitive multi-touch screen with the most convenient 4:3 ratio, the best aspect ratio permitting a convenient and versatile set of uses: reading, watching photos, viewing web pages, playing games and using applications.

Moreover, the PMP5080B comes with Office Suite Pro preinstalled, which is compatible to files from Microsoft Office 2003/2007 and 2010.

The new models features a unique “launcher concept” by Prestigio. Well-known from the other 7series and 5series models, this intuitive desk design concept makes the usage of the Prestigio MultiPad convenient and very easy. The entire “desktop” consists of 4 parts. On the upper half you will find various icons, which are grouped by the categories “LIFE”, “BUSINESS” and “ENTERTAINMENT”.

With a simple click on one icon, a window opens below and gives direct access to all applications, which belong to this particular subject. E.g., a click on “Games” in the ENTERTAINMENT category will open a window with all installed games. Below the icons, there is a widget made by Prestigio, which features weather information of a location of your choice, RSS news feed and a clock with multiple functionality like alarm, stop watch etc. Moreover, in the top left and right corners the user will find direct links to a Prestigio MultiPad guide and to Android Market, the marketplace for more than 200,000 apps for Android™ devices.

Recommended retail price of the device is 199 EUR which makes it a good mainstream Tablet PC, affordable to a large public and delivering the most decent performance within such price range.
